East End in 3D, Timelapse Installation
East End Film Festival
As part of cutting-edge 3D cinema strand, East End Film Festival premiered five short films by renowned artists Brian McClave, Gavin Peacock and Mila Lipowicz. Shot using the time-lapse film method in which a whole day’s activity is compressed into several minutes, these presented a view of East London never seen before. The premieres was presented on a large outdoor screen in Spitalfields Market, where members of the public gathered to don 3D glasses and marvel at these unique films which play with time, space and sound to create a whole new way of experiencing the city.

The videos were shown in 16:9 hi-def stereoscopic format. In addition to being time-lapse the videos were also stereoscopic, an unusual combination that hasn’t been seen in the UK before.
Music did form an integral part of this project. Each film had a unique soundtrack composed by a well-respected composer. Composers had the opportunity to work alongside the artists to create piece where the sound an image, informing and enriching the audience’s viewing experience.
